Kilimanjaro 1999
Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, is 19,335 feet high and the highest mountain in Africa. These photos from Dec 1999/Jan 2000 include some from the mountain and more of everything else we saw during the two weeks before the climb. This was a very low budget (2 week safari for $2k and Kili climb up maranago route for $900) trip and I have never been so dirty in my life. I was the only American amongst mostly Brits and Aussies. This was one of my favorite adventures ever and I have so many fond memories. We laughed a lot and I knew I would love the group when the first thing we did in Arusha was go to the liquor store and stock up on wine and beer. These are digitized images from 35mm film.
