In 2006, I joined Aventuras Patagonicas to climb Aconcagua (22,841'), the highest mountain in South America, with Chip, my former employer at Clorox, along with his hiking buddies and several others. We ascended through spectacular Guanacos Valley and descended the dismal normal route. I was on the Vacas Valley route with Alpine Ascents in 2003 but we turned back at 20k feet due to a storm.
