Everest Camps
North (Tibet)

Teams usually place three or four camps above Advanced Base Camp (ABC) with the highest camp between 8,200 and 8,400 meters.  We used three camps and attempted to summit from our highest camp just below 8,000 meters, making a pretty long summit day.  Himalayan Experience (Himex) uses four camps.   I mention Himex for comparative purposes because it is the most successful commercial outfitter on the north side.  Himex is also one of a few teams I am considering joining next year (correction, joined).
