TO ADVANCED BASE CAMP - This is a 14 mile hike, ascending from 17,000 to 21,000 feet in elevation.  The first time, we did this hike in two days.  After spending time at ABC and then descending down to base camp, we ascended back up to ABC in one day because we were better acclimatized.  It was still a long, tough hike.TO ABC - The beginning of the hike is not that interesting but you get a great view of Everest. Can you see the hikers?TWO CLIMBERS - This is looking back down toward base camp.TIBETAN TENT AT IBC - Interim base camp is where we stopped the first night.YAKINTERIM BASE CAMP (IBC)NIMA, PHANDEN AND JULIO -  The view changes drastically on the second day.NIMA WITH EVEREST IN THE BACKGROUNDEVERESTWALKING TO ABC - This may look easy but the altitude really takes its toll.TO ABCCLOSER TO ABCBACK TO BASE - This and the following were taken on another day, on our way back to BC.  Climbers, yaks and yak herders crowd the trail.  They are headed toward ABC as we descend to BC to rest at lower altitude.WITH A TIBETAN YAK HERDERJULIO - This begins the game "Follow the Yellow Jacket."BC TO ABC TO BC...TO BASE CAMP - Yellow Jacket is approaching Sitting Man.SITTING MAN WATCHING - He was on his way to ABC but that was all I could understand.

NIMA WITH EVEREST IN THE BACKGROUND
